Two arrests made in Ontario murder

ONTARIO – (Release by the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office) On February 1, 2024 The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Ontario Police Department and the High Desert Drug Task Force took Kristian Ramirez, 30 of Ontario into custody without incident, for the January 16, shooting death of Daniel Olvera.

Ramirez was arrested after responding units made contact with him in a vehicle he was a passenger in. This took place at approximately 5:00 pm behind the Ware Mart in Ontario.

Ramirez is being held at the Malheur County Jail on charges of murder, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of firearms, and tempering with physical evidence.

On January 31, Anthony Paul Peovich Jr. 42 of Ontario was arrested on charges relating to the
shooting. Peovich is also being held at the Malheur County Jail on charges of Hindering
prosecution, and tampering with physical evidence.
