Richland man arrested on warrants following 2025 crash

RICHLAND — A man has been arrested on criminal charges following a vehicle crash in May of 2025 that left two drivers injured. Our newsroom first reported that on May 16th, 2025, Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Oregon Highway 86 between a westbound Ford Ranger pickup and a Chevrolet Silverado. It was noted the driver of the Ford Ranger, Chad Daniel Palmer of Richland failed to maintain his lane, causing the crash.

On January 31, 2026, a Baker County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to a location on Highway 86 and arrested Chad Palmer, 40, on a Baker County Circuit Court warrant for Assault III, DUII, Reckless Driving, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
