BAKER COUNTY – Baker County Commissioners voted to approve the award of intent to the Baker County Chamber of Commerce for the operation of the Baker County Visitors Center last week.
This decision came after the other applicant, Anthony Lakes Outdoor Recreation Association withdrew their proposal.
When asked how she felt about this decision, Executive Director at Baker County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Shelly Cutler had this to say.
“It’s been a long process. It’s been a long two years for us and for the Baker County Community. We’re really looking forward to moving ahead and I think that along the way we were shown some things and we were able to research a few things that we can improve on.
I think that we’re absolutely going to continue to deliver an outstanding product for not only our Baker County community members, but also those visitors and travelers that are stopping through Eastern Oregon. Moving ahead we have some great ideas on some things that we would like to implement. And I think with the support of the county and the transient lodging tax committee, we can definitely pull some things together that will absolutely showcase and highlight all of the great things that Baker County and its partners have to offer.”
