ONTARIO — Chief Clint Benson of Ontario Fire & Rescue reports the station’s new burn cell training tower is ready for training. He reports that A Shift installed the flag hardware and lights recently. Chief Benson wrote, “Lots of smaller projects and phases remain, but the training tower is ready for training!”
Diversified Welding and Repair, who constructed the project, stated on social media, “Containers are set, structural steel is up, and stairs are in. A burn cell is a purpose-built live fire training environment, which means everything has to be designed and built to take repeated heat exposure without compromising structural integrity or safety.”
Our newsroom reported during the summer that Ontario Fire and Rescue received grant funding from the Randy Carpenter Memorial Foundation to help purchase a Temperature Monitoring System for the burn cell.
