MALHEUR COUNTY — We reported last summer that Malheur County, in cooperation with the Department of Land Conservation and Development, is updating its Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan. Officials are now asking the public to weigh in by providing input on the draft Risk Assessment section.
According to Ontario Fire & Rescue, “This plan helps identify hazards that can impact our area (like flooding, wildfire, drought, extreme heat, and severe weather) and guides long-term actions to reduce risk to people, property, and critical services.”
Officials are encouraging anyone who lives, works, or spends time in Malheur County to participate.
