JOHN DAY – While progress is being made on the new greenhouse and lab space at Grant School District #3, Superintendent Mark Witty said the project has encountered a few delays and they’re expecting it to be operational by the second quarter of next schoolyear:
“We’re making really good progress on that. We did run into state regulations, so we’ve got to do a little bit of adjustment to the overall plan.
We are actually looking at a building that will be even better than the one we originally thought of. [I’m] super-stoked. I think the second nine weeks is when we’ll be able to get that up and going.”
Mr. Witty said he expects the overall cost of the project to be about the same as originally planned.
