5,680 LED Bulbs handed out during two events this month

BAKER CITY – During two separate events this month, Oregon Trail Electric (OTEC) handed out a total of 5,680 LED Lightbulbs to OTEC owner-members at no charge.

The first event started on September 1^st and was planned to be a two-day event in Baker, Union, Grant, and Harney Counties. However, within two hours on the first day, OTEC had handed out all 860 bulbs.

A second event was scheduled and took place last week, September 20, 21 & 22. During that three-day event, OTEC handed out a total of 4,820 bulbs bringing the total number of distributed bulbs to 5,680.

OTEC says that “LED lightbulbs are one of today’s most energy-efficient and rapidly-developing lighting technologies. The ENERGY STAR rated LED lightbulbs that OTEC is handing out use at least 75% less energy and can last 25 times longer than incandescent lightbulbs.”
