WALLA WALLA – Two more concerts have been added to this summer’s schedule at Wine Country Amphitheater at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Walla Walla. ZZ Top will take the stage on June 8 and Maren Morris with special guest The Lone Bellow will appear on Aug. 23. Tickets go on sale Friday.
The summer concerts are presented by W3 Entertainment, Knitting Factory, and CMoore Concerts. Earlier the promoters announced that Bonnie Raitt with special guest Mavis Staples will appear at the amphitheater on Aug. 17. Those tickets are already on sale.
The concert by ZZ Top is one stop on its Raw Whisky Tour to celebrate the release of its new album, RAW, in July. The album and the tour are a salute to the band’s roots and an homage to the late Dusty Hill. Hill died on July 28, 2021, at the age of 72.
“’The Dust’ may have left the building, but he’s still very much with us,” the new album’s liner notes state.
Grammy-winning country artist Maren Morris will release a new album on March 25, “Humble Quest.” Two early-release cuts from the album have already been praised by Rolling Stone and Billboard.
Her tour will be making some pretty important stops. It includes Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.
Tickets for the concerts are available at https://www.ticketweb.com/ or at Hot Poop Record Store on East Main Street in Walla Walla for $65. The amphitheater is a few walking blocks from downtown Walla Walla. Local food trucks and wine offerings will be available. All tickets are general admission, lawn seating. Concert goers are welcome to bring blankets and low-profile, beach-style chairs.
