HERMISTON, Oregon – The Hermiston City Council will tackle a zoning change request at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. The request would change the commercially zoned property at 1855 N.E. North Street to medium density mobile home residential.
Cycletown has written to the city that it opposes the zoning change. The change has been approved by the Hermiston Planning Commission in spite of that objection.
Prior to the meeting, at 6 p.m., the council will hold a work session. City Manager Byron Smith will lead a discussion on the differences between establishing a local improvement district versus creating an urban renewal area.
Once the council meeting ends, the group will reconvene as the Hermiston Urban Renewal Agency. That agenda calls for action on two requests for façade restoration grants for businesses on East Main Street.
