JOHN DAY – Grant Union FFA member Zoey Beam received her Oregon FFA State Degree during the Oregon FFA State Convention recently held in Redmond. Advisor Kailee Oliver noted that Zoey is the first Grant Union student to receive their State Degree since 2019.
Beam gave Coffee Time listeners a glimpse at some of the requirements to get the degree:
“I had to start out by getting my Chapter Degree and be an active member in our chapter for two years, complete a full year of high school ag education, and have an active SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience).
I had to invest fifteen hundred dollars and five hundred hours into my project. I had to get thirty FFA activities, ten school or community [events], and then twenty-five hours of community service.”
