MILWAUKIE – Oregon Young Guns place second in the USA Softball of Oregon 14B State Championship this weekend at North Clackamas Park in Milwaukie.
The14 and under team played nine games from Friday through Sunday. Their two losses were to the state champion Nightmares, once on Saturday 7-1 and in the title game Sunday 11-6. Otherwise, they defeated the Oregon Rapids 20-0, downed the Lady Dragons 19-1, beat the Ravens, 19-3, defeated the Grants Pass Lady Rogues 15-4, beat the Oregon Rebels 9-4, edged out the Braves 9-8, and won over the Clatsop Crash 10-8.
The Young Guns are from northeastern Oregon. The players in the tournament finals on Sunday hail from Pilot Rock, Pendleton, Echo, Stanfield, and La Grande.
