WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools has received almost $1.3 million in grant funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce to improve lighting at Edison, Sharpstein, and Green Park Elementary Schools.
The funding will help the district enhance energy efficiency and meet the state’s Clean Buildings Performance Standard. The grant will support upgrades like LED lighting, new heating and cooling systems, and smart building controls to optimize energy use.
Facilities Director Robert Foster noted this investment benefits student learning and energy responsibility. Installation starts this spring, aiming for completion by summer break.
