WWPS names superintendent finalists, public forums Thursday

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Public Schools Board of Directors has announced three finalists for the position of superintendent. They are Ben Gauyan, Patricia Rodriguez, and Mark Wenzel.

Ben Gauyan is the assistant superintendent of the Stanwood-Camano School District in Stanwood, Washington. Patricia Rodriguez has 29 years of educational experience and has served as deputy superintendent in the Austin Independent School District in Austin, Texas; and Mark Wenzel is the education director for Cognita Schools Asia, overseeing 12 schools.

The three finalists return to Walla Walla this Thursday for interviews and public forums at 3:45, 4:50 and 5:55 p.m. at the district’s office, 364 S. Park St. Attendees are encouraged to complete feedback forms. School board members will review all input prior to making a final decision.
