WALLA WALLA โ Walla Walla Public Schools (WWPS) Superintendent Wade Smith recognized several groups of state championship winning students throughout the district at the WWPS Tuesday board meeting. Smith was excited to continue a tradition that began in the 2018-19 school year.
โEach year individuals and groups who place In the top three in statewide contests whether itโs athletics, music, drama, FFA (Future Farmers of America, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America, debate, JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) or other state qualifying events are recognized at a school board meeting for their exceptional accomplishments,โ said Smith in his opening remarks. โThis evening is not only about honoring their success, but also acknowledging their commitment, discipline and excellence.โ
Garrison Middle School students Isaac Choi, Ryan Newton, and Keith Walton claimed the State Championship in the TSA TEAMS STEM competition.

Seven Walla Walla High School FBLA members advanced to nationals after excelling at the 2025 State Competition. Sophomore Kaitlyn Billingsley placed in the top three in two events.

JROTC cadets dominated multiple competitions, including League and Regional marksmanship events, and are heading to Nationals in Ohio. Cadets also earned top honors in Color Guard and Fitness events.

SEATech SkillsUSA students excelled in Construction Technology, Audio Production, and Aerospace Assembly. Bridger Sedwick made history with back-to-back wins, showing skill and exceptional character.

FFA students earned second in the National Chapter Award Program, with individual and team wins in agriscience, potato and livestock judging, and horse evaluation. Jaycee Cox was named overall high individual in livestock judging statewide.
