WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools’ Transportation Department showed its focus on safety during a surprise inspection by the Washington State Patrol on Monday.

Eleven buses were inspected – representing 25 percent of the school district’s fleet. The district earned a 91 percent rating, with only one bus needing minor light repair, which was quickly fixed.

The Washington State Patrol reviews the vehicles used to transport district students, including school buses, vans, cars, and pickups twice a year to maintain safety standards.
