WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Police Department has once again arrested Rachel B. Thompson, 47, of Walla Walla for suspicion of second-degree reckless burning, which is a gross misdemeanor. It was her fourth arrest for such a crime since May.

Thompson was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she allegedly lit dry vegetation on fire inside the bus stop shelter at South Fifth Avenue and West Birch Street. WWPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Nick Loudermilk said it appears she was released on her own recognizance on Oct. 11.

She was being held on the charge of second-degree reckless burning after being arrested days earlier at North Fourth Avenue and West Main Street after allegedly trying to set fire to a plastic box attached to a utility pole.
