WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Police Department arrested Rachel B. Thompson, 47, of Walla Walla last week for suspicion of second-degree reckless burning, which is a gross misdemeanor. It was her third arrest for such a crime since May.

Thompson was arrested last Wednesday on the northwest corner of the intersection of North Fourth Avenue and West Main Street. A witness reported she was lighting small pieces of paper on fire with a lighter and trying to light a plastic box attached to a utility pole on fire.

She was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail, and is being held on a $1,500 bond.
