WALLA WALLA(News release from Walla Walla County Department of Community Health) Walla Walla County Dept. of Community Health (WWCDCH) has received funding through an interlocal agreement with the Washington State Dept. of Agriculture to procure and distribute food to local hunger relief organizations.  This grant also aims to support local farmers and producers to increase farm and food business viability and increase food security in Walla Walla County while contributing to long-term emergency preparedness and food system resilience.

WWCDCH will compile a vendor list of interested local and regional food growers and suppliers who wish to be included.  Approved vendors must comply with the Washington Retail Food Code. Vendors should ideally be able to deliver to the BMAC food bank, 921 W. Cherry St., Walla Walla; however, arrangements for pick-up may be possible if vendors are unable to deliver.

Small businesses, including those that are minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned, are encouraged to participate.  Creation of a vendor list is not a commitment to purchase, and Walla Walla County Department of Community Health reserves the right to reject all submissions and/or re-advertise for additional submissions. Specific products desired are:

  • Eggs
  • Honey
  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Butter

Interested growers and suppliers should complete a vendor questionnaire and submit it to WWCDCH. There is no deadline for submitting a questionnaire.
