WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County Department of Community Health officials have been notified that a local man in his 60s and a local woman in her 50s that tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Those are the only details being released. It brings the county’s total pandemic-related deaths to 35.
At last report, the county had 487 active COVID-19 cases. That included 100 inmates at the Washington State Penitentiary and 19 employees of the prison. Ten of those are hospitalized. There are 477 undergoing home isolation.
The county has experienced a total of 3,735 cases, with 3,212 recovered. The county warns that case counts are subject to change as new cases go through investigation and contact tracing.
