WALLA WALLA – The city of Walla Walla, along with strategy consultants, HUB Collective, will present its findings and recommendations for the city’s 10-year tourism master plan. The presentation takes place tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at Walla Walla City Hall, 15 N. Third Ave.

During the presentation, the team from HUB will share insights they’ve heard from community members and City leaders, including an overview of the results from a community survey performed in April 2024. They will also share a big-picture vision and themes that will shape the details of the plan.

The event will be an opportunity for residents to hear about the process and share their thoughts and questions before the City begins crafting specific strategies and objectives to achieve the overall vision for tourism.

“Through the community survey and this presentation, we’re making sure residents have a chance to tell us what they think our visitor economy should look like,” Walla Walla City Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain said. “We know the importance of listening to and valuing the voices of our residents, which helps to ensure their priorities will be represented in the master plan.”

The master plan will be a forward-looking document that outlines the vision for tourism and an action-oriented plan of accomplishment for years to come. The plan will highlight community benefits, workforce retention and training, budget allocations, and sustainability best practices to strengthen the tourism economy and ensure that this pivotal part of the local economy is positioned to endure. It is envisioned to be the guiding document for tourism investment and planning for the next 10 years.
