WALLA WALLA โ Walla Walla County has agreed to enter into an interlocal cost-sharing agreement with the Port of Walla Walla and the city of Walla Walla for the proposed overpass at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Clinton Street in Walla Walla.
The port has obtained $6 million in federal funding for the property acquisition portion of the project that requires a 13.5 percent local match. The three entities have agreed to split that match fund coming out to approximately $312,139 for each entity. The port will remain the lead and fiscal agent on the project, while the city will solicit design proposals and manage the design and right-of-way acquisition process.
The city is an agency approved under the Washington State Department of Transportationโs (WSDOT) Certification Acceptance, meaning it has the authority delegated by WSDOT to carry out such duties.
