WALLA WALLA – Richard Eugene Price, 77, of Walla Walla was sentenced Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court to three counts of possessing child pornography. He pleaded guilty to those amended charges on Dec. 12, 2024.

Judge Brandon Johnson sentenced Price to three years community custody, and he must undergo an evaluation and participate in all necessary mental health and sex offender therapies.

The Washington State Department of Corrections also placed strict conditions on Price including access to the internet and access to where children are likely to gather. He is to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18 and is required to register as a sex offender.

Prior to sentencing, prosecutors stated Price had one of the most expensive collections of child pornography law enforcement had ever seen. This was due to Price having paid for some of the material. The Walla Walla Police Department arrested Price this past June following cyber tips made by Yahoo and Google. When a search warrant was executed, Price admitted to detectives during an interview he had possession of child pornography on his electronic devices in his residence.
