WW gets more vaccine today

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Department of Community Health is expecting to receive an additional 1,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the Washington Department of Health today (Monday). In addition the Walla Walla County Office of Emergency Management reported that Providence St. Mary Medical Center will receive 1,000 doses for the unvaccinated and another 1,000 doses for those requiring a second dose.

Walla Walla County Public Health Officer Dr. Daniel Kaminsky said the shipments are a sign that officials at the state level are taking note of the county’s efforts at vaccinating its citizens. People can register for appointments beginning today (Monday) for vaccine clinics set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

To register, people must show they are among those currently eligible in either Phase 1A or Phase 1B1. That can be accomplished on the DOH website at https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/VaccineInformation/PhaseFinderTool Once that is accomplished, those registering should select an appointment for Providence – Walla Walla.
