WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla elementary school students went back to school last week, and Superintendent Wade Smith is pleased.
“What an incredible week it has been,” Smith wrote in a prepared statement. “I am so proud of our elementary and preschool faculty and students. It was such a remarkable opportunity this week welcoming elementary students back following last week’s successful preschool experience.”
Smith reported that attendance last week was excellent and feedback from teachers, parents, and support staff has been positive. The district is employing stringent safety protocols focusing on mask wearing, social distancing, and enhanced cleaning to support in-person learning. Planning continues to welcome older students back to their classrooms.
