WSP investigating fatal traffic collision in Pasco

PASCO – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred just before 4 a.m. on westbound Interstate 182 at milepost 8 in Pasco.
Troopers said George J. Dvorak, 58, of Pasco was traveling westbound on I-182 when a pedestrian crossed the roadway in front of Dvorak’s vehicle.
Dvorak struck the pedestrian, who has been identified as Ethan A. Vargas, 16, of Kennewick. According to troopers, Vargas died at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
As for Dvorak, he was not injured and is not facing charges. WSP mistakenly reported earlier he was facing charges, but has since corrected their mistake on the accident report.
