WSP arrests man near Burbank for impersonating an officer

WALLA WALLA COUNTY – The Washington State Patrol arrested David Phillip Albrecht, 46, of Kennewick on Friday outside Burbank.

WSP Lieutenant Dustin Drout reported the agency received a 911 call about a vehicle using red and blue flashing police-style lights. Drout said troopers were able to locate the matching suspect vehicle, and that Albrecht was taken into custody after allegedly driving up to 80 miles per hour on State Route 124 at milepost 15 at 2:19 p.m.

Evidence of law enforcement impersonation was found, leading to Albrecht’s arrest on probable cause of criminal impersonation with intent to defraud in the first-degree and reckless driving.

Albrecht is scheduled for arraignment on April 21. He was released on his own recognizance following Monday’s first court appearance in Walla Walla County Superior Court.
