WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council has voted to put a ballot measure before the voters on Nov. 2 on whether the Transportation Benefit District 0.2 percent sales tax should be renewed for an additional 10 years. Voters enacted the TBD sales tax in 2021. Funds raised by this tax are used exclusively for road improvement projects.
The city is seeking no more than three residents to prepare an explanatory statement in favor for this proposition and no more than three residents to prepare an explanatory statement in opposition of this proposition. The statements will be included in the local voters pamphlet for the Nov. 2 election. The names of the committee members will appear in the voters’ pamphlet as authors of these statements.
