BAKER CITY — The Lone Pine Tree chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be adorning veterans’ graves with wreaths at Mount Hope Cemetery once more.
The group is holding its ceremony on Saturday, December 16, at 10:00am.
The community is welcome to participate in placing wreaths in the veterans section of the cemetery located at 1012 S. Bridge St.
This is the second year the Lone Pine Chapter of the DAR is holding this ceremony.
“One of the things we stand for and will always stand for is our appreciation of veterans, those living and those not with us anymore,” said Betty Milliman, one of the group’s members. “Without veterans of the American Revolution and every veteran after that in America, we wouldn’t be here.”
The group wants to remind the community that these will be wreaths of remembrance, and not Christmas wreaths.
“This is to remember them and their service,” said Milliman.
Anyone who wants more details about the ceremony is asked to call Betty at 541-403-4652.
