PRAIRIE CITY – A Grant County legend has been lost. Sadly, Habanero, two-time Bullfighters Only Bull of the Year, and bovine resident of Prairie City’s Hamsher Fighting Bulls, has passed on. Trever Hamsher, Habanero’s owner, reports the fighting bull was 14 years old. He passed away Saturday night.

Hamsher shared some final words for his prize-winning bull on social media:

“To some he was feared, but to me, he was my friend. Thanks Hobby, see you on the other side.”

Hamsher noted that Habanero’s legacy will live on through his offspring.
