Work underway at John Day 7th Street Park Complex

JOHN DAY – Multiple work projects are underway at the 7th Street Park Complex in John Day. City Public Works Manager Casey Myers swung by to inform our newsroom that the east end of 7th Street will be closed for the next two weeks as workers install a 40-foot sewer pipe. Myers said barricades will be up, and people are asked to use alternate routes and avoid the area.
Also, John Day/Canyon City Parks and Rec want to inform the public that dredging of the pond at the 7th Street Park Complex is happening. The agency says the main parking lot will be closed for the next 45 days, or so.
In addition, paving is all set to happen on the parking area by the splash pad and skate park on the east end. The public can expect that parking area to be closed as well. The parking lot on the west end of the complex will still be open, as well as some street parking.
