GRANT COUNTY – Oregon Department of Transportation District 5 Community Affairs Specialist Vicki Moles was recently in the Elkhorn Media Group newsroom to discuss the ongoing curb ramp improvement projects within Grant County:

“Right now, we have active work sites in Canyon City at Bridge Street; In Dayville at South Fork Road, where it comes out and meets U.S. 26; in Mt. Vernon, the intersection of U.S. 395 and U.S. 26; and then also, in John Day on South Canyon Boulevard at First, Second, Third and Fourth Avenues, as well as Dayton Street.”

The ramps are getting upgraded to meet ADA Standards.

Moles said the contractor plans on working into the winter for as long as possible, with no set date to stop for the season. The project is scheduled for completion in August, 2024.
