HERMISTON – People driving by the future Hermiston City Hall might think that construction has slowed down for the winter. That’s not exactly true. The workers have moved inside.
“A lot of the work from here on out is going to be putting the guts in the building – the pipes and wires and all that type of stuff,” Assistant City Manager Mark Morgan said.
The building is still on track to be completed by the end of this year. Morgan said the project is not as impacted about supply chain delays as other time-sensitive projects are.
“We don’t have a hard and fast deadline to complete the project,” he said. “We’re very different than a project like the school district’s elementary schools where in August they’ve got to open the doors. We’re in a position where we’re much more able to absorb some delays.”
