HEPPNER – Ground is being broken for a new Sixth Circuit Courthouse in Morrow County. The public is invited to attend the ceremonial beginning of construction at the site above the Morrow County Fairgrounds.
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m.
Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson said building a new courthouse doesn’t mean the old one will sit vacant and idle.
“That historic Courthouse is not being torn down,” he said. “It is not going away. It is not being converted to another purpose. It is still staying a county facility, and the county facility that most people interact with still.”
The assessor’s office, the county clerk, and the justice court will maintain their offices in the historic building.
