BURBANK — The Washington State Patrol reports an 83-year-old Walla Walla woman was injured Friday afternoon in a collision with a semi-truck 15 miles east of Burbank.

Troopers said George Carpenter, 86, and his passenger, Virginia Carpenter, 83, both of Walla Walla, were traveling eastbound on State Route 124 at milepost 15 when George attempted pass a semi-truck driven by Miguel Ruelasvaldovinos, 34, of Pasco, a few minutes before 1:30 p.m.

The cause of the accident was unsafe passing. Virginia was transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. The 1986 Ford Edge she was riding in was totaled. Neither George or Miguel were injured.

Neither drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, according to WSP.
