Woman charged after trying to leave store with over $1,700 in groceries

PENDLETON – A 19-year-old woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly trying to leave Grocery Outlet with over $1,700 in groceries without paying for them.

According to the Pendleton Police Department an officer responded to a report of shoplifting at Grocery Outlet at 8:14 p.m., and detained Kayanna Nicole Kolla. An investigation revealed that Kolla attempted to leave the store with 271 items valued at $1,761.16, and that store staff detained her as she tried to leave.

Kolla was booked into the Umatilla County Jail on a felony charge of Theft I.
