Woman arrested in Baker City for assault and other charges

BAKER CITY — A woman was arrested in Baker City following a violent episode at the Elks Lodge, according to Baker City Police Chief Ty Duby. Tyrah Robian Steele, 30, was arrested on charges including Assault IV, Harassment, Aggravated Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief x2.

Chief Duby sent details regarding the arrest, as seen below:

“On July 16, 2025, at approximately 1959 hours, Tyrah Steele assaulted [name withheld] at the Baker City Elks Lodge, 1896 2nd St in Baker City, OR, causing multiple injuries and breaking his glasses. During the incident, she smashed a phone belonging to [name withheld]. She resisted arrest by not allowing Officers to take her hand and handcuff her. After she was taken into custody, she spat on Officer Lance Woodward after he placed her into his patrol car. During the entire incident, she screamed, yelled, and cursed at the top of her lungs.”

Chief Duby said initially Steele assaulted Elks Lodge staff, and patrons were able to restrain her until police arrived.
