HERMISTON – Spring Louise Hartinger, 48, of Hermiston is in Umatilla County jail facing multiple felony charges against her that occurred at the restaurant where she was employed. She was taken into custody Saturday.

HPD began an investigation after receiving a report from a local restaurant owner that discovered when a credit card company disputed a charge at the establishment. The owner began investigating and found a total of 76 complaints. Five of those were altered receipts, the other 71 had money added to them after the bill had been signed. Those totaled $618.87.

A follow-up investigation uncovered more information from 2018 to 2019 that has become part of the investigation. HPD considers it possible that more charges will be added due to the additional information that was recovered.

Hartinger has been lodged on 76 counts of computer crime, five counts of forgery, and one count of aggregate theft. Her bail is set at $790,000.
