Woman Arrested Following Vehicle Assault Investigation in La Grande

LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande Police ) On May 20, 2026, at approximately 9:53 p.m., officers responded to the area of 2632 Bearco Loop following a report of a disturbance involving a person being struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying near the entrance of the RV park. The male reported he had been run over by his ex-wife. Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with significant injuries. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later flown to Boise, Idaho for advanced medical treatment.

Before being transported out of state, officers interviewed the victim at the hospital. The investigation determined the disturbance stemmed from a dispute involving a pickup truck the victim had reportedly owned since 2011.

At approximately 11:09 p.m., officers located the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Leanna Hadden, at another residence in La Grande. Following an interview with officers, Hadden was arrested and lodged at the Union County Correctional Facility on the following charges:

Assault in the Second Degree (ORS 163.175)

Reckless Driving (ORS 811.140)

Felony Hit and Run – Injury (ORS 811.705)
