Wolf sighted outside John Day, one calf is dead

JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley issued a press release today, stating that a wolf has been sighted near the west end of John Day, near Luce Creek Road. According to the sheriff, a nearby rancher had located a calf that had been killed earlier on private property, and it’s suspected that the wolf was the cause.
Sheriff McKinley issued a word of caution to local landowners to watch out for their livestock, as the wolf is still presumably in the area. The press release came in just before 10 a.m. today. We’ll keep you updated on the developments of this story. Find the press release below:
