Without Life Guards, no swimming pool

ELGIN – The City of Elgin would like to have their swimming pool open this summer, however without qualified life guards they will not be able to open.  Anyone that is 15-years of age or older that would like to experience their skills are encouraged to apply, deadline is April 15th.  Red Cross will be providing the certification that includes a Swim Test, First Aid, CPR and AED training and is about 25 hours of class time both in person and online.  Applications can be picked up at the City of Elgin City Hall Monday-Thursday or call Bryan at 541-786-1662 to schedule appointment.
