BAKER CITY — With the approaching winter months, the Baker City Police Department will be patrolling for illegal parking on city streets to prepare for snowplows.
Under state law, “dead storage” vehicles (including but not limited to vehicles under repair, unregistered vehicles, or vehicles with other obvious signs they are not being operated) can be towed in as little as 24 hours by the city.
Citations for overtime parking (over 72 hours) can be issued when it is obvious a vehicle has not been moved in over 72 hours. Under the current ordinance, movement of the vehicle must be from the entire block. This includes RVโs, boats, trailers, and other vehicles not being used for transportation purposes.
Residents with questions can contact Code Enforcement Officer Mike Flynn or Sergeant Mike Regan at 541-524-2014.
