GRANT COUNTY – A late-season winter storm has caused travel complications across Eastern Oregon. Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley sent photos into our newsroom this morning with the caption “Springter” (see below). Sections of U.S. HWY 395 and I-84 are closed due to the storm. The following is a release from ODOT:
U.S. 395 remains closed between Nye Junction at intersection with OR 74 (MP 23.64) and Long Creek (MP 90.84) due to severe snow storm and unsafe weather conditions. I-84 also remains closed in eastern Oregon due to weather and crashed trucks. Crews have been working through the night to get the route open, but blizzard like conditions have impacted operations. Continue checking TripCheck.com or call 511 / 800-977-6368 for updates conditions. Outside Oregon call 503-588-2941. Do not blindly follow GPS navigation devices/apps for detour options, as many routes are impacted by the winter-like weather. Stay in safe location until TripCheck shows state routes are open.
Stay posted for updates.
