Winter destinations may be busy, so have a backup plan

EASTERN OREGON – (From Wallowa Whitman National Forest) With fresh snow and the New Year Weekend right around the corner, be prepared for trailheads, ski areas, and other winter destinations to be busier than usual.
Have a backup plan in case your first-choice destination is crowded. Be prepared for limited facilities. Many bathrooms and garbage services are unavailable on the Wallowa-Whitman during the winter months. Pack it in, pack it out–this may include toilet paper.
