WALLA WALLA โ€“ A new grocery store might open in Walla Walla after the Myra Road South Extension Project is finished. This project will open over 50 acres of commercial and residential land south of State Route 125, expected to be completed by July 2026.

Boise-based WinCo Foods, Inc. has requested a site plan review and state environmental policy act review from Walla Walla Development Services for a new grocery store located southwest of the proposed roundabout at State Route 125 and Myra Road.

The approximately 84,000 square-foot grocery store, built on 9.5 acres, would include a parking lot with 430 parking spaces, associated site development, stormwater facilities and water and sewer connections.

The city is accepting comments regarding the application in writing at Walla Walla Development Services, 55 E. Moore St., Walla Walla, WA 99362 or via email to permits@wallawallawa.gov before 5 p.m. on Feb. 12.

If WinCo Foods were to open a Walla Walla location, it would be the grocery store chainโ€™s first in the city.
