What Will $1.2 Billion in Funds Mean to Oregon’s Transportation Future?

LA GRANDE – (Information provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation) What Will $1.2 Billion in Additional Funds Mean to Oregon’s Transportation Future?

Attend ODOT webinar to learn about Oregon’s share of federal infrastructure bill and weigh in on how additional flexible federal dollars should be spent.  Recently Tom Strandberg of the La Grande Office said, “We’ll receive some, but at this time, we don’t know how much.”

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) recently passed by Congress includes a lot of money for transportation—more than half a trillion dollars.

But what does it mean for Oregon? We’d like to invite you to a webinar on December 7, from 9-10:30 a.m. where ODOT will walk through the additional $1.2 billion the IIJA will invest in Oregon’s transportation system.

We also want to get your input on how the Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) should spend the additional funding to further Oregon’s transportation goals.

We’ll spend the first half of the webinar walking through the IIJA and answering questions and we’ll spend the second half taking public input on two key questions:

Given the investments already made in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program and the federal infrastructure bill, how should the OTC allocate flexible funding to best advance the OTC/ODOT Strategic Action Plan and the state’s transportation goals?

What are the specific priorities for investment of funds in public and active transportation?

When: Tuesday, December 7, 9-10:30 a.m.
