Weston woman arrested in La Grande for Assault, Attempt to Elude and Kidnapping

LA GRANDE – (Information provided by the La Grande Police Department) On March 4th, 2025, at approximately 9:55 p.m., La Grande Police Department (LGPD) officers observed Felicia Lavimodiere (32) of Weston, Oregon, driving a black 2004 Hyundai Sonata on Island Avenue. Lavimodiere was accompanied by an adult male passenger, Jeffrey Williams (36), a transient.

Lavimodiere was wanted by LGPD for probable cause on unrelated charges, including Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone and Methamphetamine). As a result, LGPD officers initiated a traffic stop on Island Avenue at the I-84 overpass. However, when officers informed Lavimodiere that she was under arrest, she immediately fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

Lavimodiere accelerated to speeds reaching 90 mph as she drove northbound on Island Avenue toward Monroe Avenue. In response, LGPD officers, with assistance from a deputy from the Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO), reduced their speeds for safety reasons. Despite efforts to safely pursue her, officers temporarily lost sight of Lavimodiere’s vehicle.

Moments later, Lavimodiere’s vehicle was located after crashing into a ditch near Gaertner Lane. Lavimodiere fled on foot but was quickly located and apprehended by law enforcement officers. She was transported to Grande Ronde Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, released, and then taken into custody.

Williams, the passenger, was also treated for minor injuries and released. During the investigation, Williams informed officers that Lavimodiere had refused his request to stop the vehicle, and that he feared for his life during the high-speed chase. Williams had an active arrest warrant out of Umatilla County and was taken into custody and transported to the Union County Jail. He was cooperative with officers during the investigation.

Lavimodiere has been charged with the following offenses stemming from the pursuit and subsequent crash:

  • Assault II
  • Attempt to Elude (Vehicle)
  • Attempt to Elude (On Foot)
  • Criminal Mischief II
