ATHENA – Weston-McEwen High School is hosting a signing day next Thursday, April 27 in the gym. Four seniors are preparing for the next step in playing sports at the college level.
Cameron Reich will compete in track at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. Alexander McIntyre will run cross country and track for Whitworth University in Spokane. Finn Irvine will be wearing a Ripon College lineman’s uniform in Ripon, Wisconsin. Genevieve Robinson will play volleyball at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton.
“The Athena-Weston School District is proud to be sending four signed athletes off to colleges next year,” a news release about the event stated. “The signing day event celebrates the achievements of all our high school athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the athletes, their families, coaches, and the community to come together to recognize and celebrate their hard work and dedication.”
The ceremony is at 8 p.m. in the WMHS gym. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
