WESTON – Oregon Heritage has issued six façade restoration grants, and one of them is for the Reynaud Building at 107 East Main Street in Weston. The grants are called Diamonds in the Rough.
The building in the Weston Commercial Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places. Made of locally manufactured brick, the façade is organized into three bays on the west with a separate, unaltered second-story entrance bay on the east which is shared with the neighboring Prutsman Building.
The Weston Area Development Association says the ground-story fronts of the two buildings are among the few in the district to have remained entirely unaltered.
Oregon Heritage, which is part of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, has awarded the project $5,890 in funding to repair the support columns and restore the first-floor façade. The association is expected to match that donation.
