Weekend DUIs keep police busy

TRI-CITIES – Law enforcement agencies kept busy over the weekend making two separate DUI arrests following injury collisions in both Kennewick and Richland.

On Saturday, Kennewick police were dispatched just before 9 p.m. to collision between a vehicle and parked camper trailer near West Fourth Avenue and South Union Street.

The driver and sole occupant of a Dodge Challenger sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. After receiving medical attention, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into the Benton County Jail.

KPD did not release the driver’s name.

On Sunday, police in Richland, Washington, responded to a single vehicle collision around 1:30 a.m. in the area of George Washington Way and Jadwin Avenue.

The vehicle collided with a traffic pole. Uriel Trevino Garcia, 29, the driver and sole occupant, was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center and later booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
