Weekend arrests include drug charges and hit-and-run incident

JOHN DAY – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a hit-and-run accident last Friday evening. On June 4th, at around 9:04 p.m., Samuel Edwin Bates, 33, of Irrigon was arrested in response to the vehicle incident that occurred near 150 W Main in John Day. Nothing further was released.

On Saturday, June 5th, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on drug charges at a location on SE Elm St. in John Day. Anthony Scott Steele, 56, of John Day was arrested for Manufacture, Delivery and Possession of Methamphetamine. No further information was released.

On Sunday morning, June 6th, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant at a location on NW 2nd Ave in John Day. Brad Hartwick, 44, of John Day was arrested on the warrant. Details regarding the warrant were not released.
